How can we support our troops?
There are numerous ways each of us can show our support for the men and women serving our country overseas. While Mike does not endorse any specific group or organization, he has come across several options you may wish to consider:
 Operation USO Care Package
Due to heightened security, individuals can no longer send letters and packages addressed to “Any Service Member.” Operation USO Care Package provides a safe, easy way for you to show that your thoughts are with our service members. The Care Packages contain an assortment of items specifically requested by the military, such as prepaid international calling cards, disposable cameras, toiletries, and sunscreen.
 Operation Dear Abby.net
Dear Abby, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. Department of the Navy in association with SPAWAR SCC (National Capital Region) is providing this private and secure online resource for you to send our men and women overseas a message of support.
Send Your Thanks to Service Members
Sign a virtual thank you card at the Defend America Website.
 Operation Uplink
Using contributions from supporters like you, Operation Uplink purchases phone cards and distributes them to servicemen and women.
TAPS: Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors
TAPS is a national non-profit organization serving family, friends and military service members who have been affected by a death in the armed services.
 The Fisher House
Support families whose loved ones are being treated at military and VA hospitals through a donation to the Fisher House. Click on the link above to buy gift certificates good for commissary purchases in a variety of denominations to be shared with families staying in a Fisher House.
